It is understood that alcohol will be served at Trinoc*coN and it is incumbent on me to drink responsibly and not to drive while drinking. I release Trinoc*coN from any and all liability associated with any acts directly or indirectly related to drinking of alcohol and will indemnify Trinoc*coN for any costs, and damages which are a indirect or direct result of alcohol consumption. Public display of intoxication will NOT be permitted, and a member who publicly displays this condition and becomes unruly or loud will be expelled without a refund.
Possession of alcoholic beverages by anyone under 21 at Trinoc*coN is grounds for expulsion from the Trinoc*coN without a refund. Anyone caught providing alcoholic beverages to anyone under 21 will also be expelled.
No use of illicit drugs will be tolerated and are grounds for expulsion without a refund.
Any violation of hotel policy will be grounds for expulsion without a refund.
Weapons policy: this includes real, replica or toy arms of any sort including but not limited to guns, blades, or whatever. They must be peace-bonded at all times unless being demonstrated by authorized professionals during special sanctioned events.
No functioning projectile/squirting weapons of any kind. All NC and City of Durham laws concerning weapons possession will apply. Horseplay or threatening use of such devices is grounds for confiscation and/or expulsion from the con without a refund. Con staff, hotel security, and local law enforcement will treat anything that looks like a real gun AS a real gun.
Announced events & guests are subject to change and/or cancellation without notice.
Trinoc*coN is not responsible for items lost or stolen during the con.
Trinoc*coN staff reserve the right to expel without refund any member whose behavior disrupts the enjoyment and/or safety of any other member or guest.
Please turn off cell phones/ pagers/ text messengers during events.
Cameras are not permitted in the art show unless the Art Show Director and/or the artist(s) say it is OK.
No smoking except in hotel designated areas!
Not all activities are appropriate for children and we ask that parents/ guardians monitor their childrens' activities.
We don't post bail.
No laser pointers allowed.
No camping out in the hotel lobby, halls, or con areas. If you are found sleeping in these areas you'll be asked to retire to your hotel room or go home.
Please do not abuse the hotel facilities! This includes unauthorized postings of signs on walls/ doors.
Costumes: Remember that no costume is not a costume! Please wear appropriate attire at all con areas & functions! Body paint/ make-up does not count as clothing.
Gamers: Please do not run any unofficial games (including LARPs) which may confuse/ conflict with any official Trinoc*coN activities. Please inquire about any available 'Open Gaming' space.
Trinoc*coN cannot permit any unauthorized vendors to sell products or services during the con. Our dealers (and artists renting Artist Alley tables) pay good money to be here, so it would simply be unfair to them. Authorized dealers are not allowed to sell bootleg merchandise (such as but not limited to videos). We will not allow people to advertise in the hotel any unauthorized vending that might be going on in any hotel rooms or car trunks.
You must be registered with the con and have a con membership before you can sign up for any con activities such as gaming, workshops, contests, etc.
LARP and other gamers shouldn't allow their activities to interfere with other con members. limiting the games to only designated areas, and not to bother the other lodgers in the hotel who are not here for the con. Likewise, non-gamers should not interfere with the authorized gaming activities.
Please express any concerns you have to a Trinoc*coN staffperson. If you are concerned about a security matter, please speak with a Trinoc*coN staffperson, hotel security, or any local law enforcement officers that are on the premises.
Thou shalt bathe. Properly. You know what we mean.
Remember the food policy for the convention areas: no outside-the-hotel food (eg MacDonalds, Dominos) can be brought into the con areas, except for food we are permitted to serve within the con suite, If you have a hotel room you can order delivered food there- but it cannot be brought to the con areas.
With the exception of legal seeing-eye/ helper/ assist animals, pets are not allowed in the hotel.
If you are bringing items to give to/ show/ be autographed by our guests, please exercise good judgement and restraint in how much you bring, especially if there is a long line of other fans also waiting to meet the guests!
Artists & the agents, art bidders/ buyers need to be aware of the our art show rules & polices.
If you intend to use the hotel swimming pool, gym, or any other facilities there, make sure to read & heed any posted hotel rules.
Posting signs/ fliers at the hotel - Should you wish to promote in the hotel a room party or other activity, fliers can be displayed, but they may not be taped, pinned/ tacked, or affixed with adhesive putty to doors/ walls/ other surfaces; they can ONLY be adhered using 'static cling paper'.
